SONNY is a fully written original feature-length script by Laurence Glover, telling the story of ex-criminal Sonny James, a man dragged back into the underbelly of British organised crime, the life he thought he had left behind before starting a family.

Originally developed as a 102-page feature film, SONNY has been reimagined as an AI-driven drama series, told through short, gripping episodes of around ten minutes each.

Joe Lygoe, has worked closely with Laurence to help shape the visual language, cinematic tone and world of the story. The project merges traditional filmmaking craft with cutting-edge AI production to bring the series to life in a way that feels both grounded and innovative.

A team of AI artists and filmmakers are currently creating the first ten minutes of the series as a proof-of-concept (work-in-progress clip below). While that sequence is in production, we continue to develop the treatment and visual design using both AI and traditional methods to establish the world, characters and aesthetic you see here.
